Blur and Gorillaz front man Damon Albarn is back with his latest solo release The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows. Never one to shy away from musical experimentation, Albarn returns with what started as an orchestral piece inspired by the landscape of Iceland.
The original idea can still be heard in several of the tracks but Albarn decided to rework the project and change things up so what we are left with is some beautiful soundscapes that meander into pop songs and that let the instantly recognisable voice of Albarn saunter along like only he can.
This album is full of beautiful imagery and if you are a fan of Damon Albarn this will be an easy addition to your collection, just proving once again what a talent he really is. The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows is the perfect follow up to Everyday Robots.
