Sometimes you listen to bands hoping they change their sound, grow a little, even explore new directions and then sometimes you don’t ever want a band to stray too far from that sound you love. Dinosaur Jr. are guitar driven, distortion heavy, deep bass playing, vocal drawling and I never want them to change.
Lead Singer J Mascis is often hailed as the Godfather of alt rock a title he often dismisses but where would we be without Dinosaur Jr. and J Mascis. Sweep It Into Space is a complete throwback to that early grunge/alt rock sound of the late 80’s early 90’s and yet somehow still sounds fresh. I guess guitar driven rock never really goes out of fashion.
