Scottish artist Paolo Nutini returns with that distinctive voice on his brand-new album ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’ and it does not disappoint. It has been eight years since Nutini released his last album ‘Caustic Love’, but it is obvious from listening to the new album he has not been sitting on his laurels.
Writing more using the Bass guitar, that rhythmic thump is obvious on several track. Exploring more genres of music there are several influences on ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’ that we’ve not heard Nutini explore before. That’s not to say those epic ballads we’ve come to expect aren’t included as well!
I think it’s hard to find someone who’s heard Nutini’s voice deny how talented he is. As explorative as ‘Last Night in the Bittersweet’ is, it never completely strays from the path that made us fall in love with Paolo’s sound. This one is for fans of Nutini’s sound or people who like to hear artists explore their sound.
