A sound that is pure guitar driven indie pop and lyrics that speak of tough times and heartbreak, it’s another great album from Passenger. Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted is Passenger’s 13th studio album and although written and recorded under very strange circumstances it is clear that he has locked down his sound.
The record comes across as very mournful through its musicality and the distinct wistful voice of Passenger but there is a definite message of hope in the beautiful lyrics. This is an easy choice for a Sunday morning listen, cup of tea and something very chill on in the backgound.
Obviously most people remember Passenger for the big hit that shall remain nameless but there is a real talent there and it comes across in abundance on Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted.
