The English Indie Rock trio return with The Dream their fourth studio album and it is a work of pure delight. A more chilled out sound comes through on the follow up to their previous album 2017’s Relaxer. We’ve been waiting 5 months for this one since it was announced with the lead single U&Me late last year.
Alt-J have that guitar driven sound that is the sound of modern Indie-Rock and although still very present there is a more, pardon the pun, relaxed sound to The Dream than Relaxer. A more honest album with lyrics hitting closer to home and a more, as the title suggests, dream like sound.
If you want to float away on a chilled wall of sound, then The Dream is an instant purchase for you. Get on board with a band who aren’t afraid to experiment with their sound and just seem to keep getting better. This one will be on repeat for a while, I’m sure.
