With a silky-smooth voice that tears at your soul it is easy to understand why Celeste was hailed as one of the best new artists of last year. Not Your Muse, her debut album, is a clear indicator of how much talent this lady has.
I suppose the easy comparisons here are Amy Winehouse or Adele and that influence can definitely be heard on some of the more up-tempo numbers but it’s the slower tracks like ‘Ideal Woman’ and ‘Strange’ that let her voice truly shine in its unique way.
I think this album is one that will just keep getting better with each listen and unquestionably one that will be hard to take off repeat.
