It’s hard to believe that Toxicity turns 20 this year. For any fan of metal this is a must have for the collection but for those who maybe haven’t delved that much into that genre Toxicity is a good place to start.
It has a manic intensity at times before switching seamlessly to melodic vocals over sitar or banjo. Throwing Toxicity into one category is a little unfair as it blends so many music styles, everything from folk and jazz to middle eastern and metal.
With instantly recognizable vocals from Serj Tankian, produced by Rick Rubin and massive hits including ‘Chop Suey’ & ‘Toxicity’, this is a highly recommended album.
