In my opinion no list of the greatest soundtracks of all time would be complete without The Blues Brothers, I would even go so far as to say no list of top 100 albums of all time would be complete without this record.
Jake (John Belushi) and Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) give stellar performances on this record, throwing themselves completely into these incredible Blues numbers. From ‘Everybody needs somebody to Love’ to ‘Sweet Home Chicago’, you can see how much the Blues means to these guys.
Sure Aykroyd and Belushi are awesome but where this record takes it to the next level is with the talent that joins the boys on this journey. I won’t go into the Blue Brothers Band members, look that up and be amazed. I will however mention the singing talent that is on this record includes Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway and James Brown, who are Blues royalty. Own this record!!
