The list of fans of Dublin born singer-songwriter O’ Rourke is enough to boost anyones ego, with John Prine, Paul Weller and Ronnie Wood. In fact, Weller is such a fan he has produced Arrivals the new album from Declan.
His status as a master of his song writing craft is not tarnished one bit on this beautiful album. His complex guitar playing is quite astounding as it blends seamlessly into the almost simple folk melodies backing O’ Rourkes powerful voice.
It’s a very wide-ranging music in scene in Ireland at the moment, which is amazing, but it is lovely to hear a traditional sound still making an impact. For the fans of all those singer-songwriters this is a nice addition to your collection.
